Cameron’s municipal wastewater is treated through a 1.6-million-gallon-per-day Activated Sludge plant consisting of two oxidation ditches, four final clarifiers, an aerobic digester, and two storage basins. The final disposal product is a biosolid material, which is applied to local farm fields as a soil amendment / fertilizer.
Plant staffing consists of three full-time employees and one part-time employee. They operate the plant to provide an effluent that consistently meets or exceeds State and federal regulations for water entering the environment.
