COVID-19 Update from the Mayor (3/20/20)

The City plans to keep citizens informed of new developments surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Citizens are being encouraged to follow the City website and Facebook page for daily updates.

To: The Residents of the City of Cameron

According to the Clinton County Health Department there are still no positive/confirmed Coronavirus cases in Clinton County or the contiguous counties.

At this time, the County Health Department is recommending that restaurants remain open but migrate their business to carry-out and delivery services only. If a restaurant decides to keep their dining room open, they should reduce the number of persons allowed in their dining room and ensure that each group of diners is seated more than six feet away from the next nearest group. If the situation escalates, the County may order restaurants to close their dining rooms.

The City is continuing to provide basic services and thank the citizens for their cooperation during this stressful time. Information can change quickly so please check our website ( and Facebook page ( regularly for updates. Residents are still encouraged to limit their risk of exposure to potential transmission of the Coronavirus by practicing social distancing and remaining in their homes when possible. We also want to remind you that City Hall’s lobby remains closed but the drive-thru window is open for business during normal business hours.
