Contractors, including (but not limited to) construction, earthmoving, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and asphalt contractors, must present a certificate proving the existence of workers' compensation insurance. According the State of Missouri FAQs
, construction industry employers who erect, demolish, alter or repair improvements must carry workers' compensation insurance if they have one or more employees. If the construction business is not required to have workers' compensation insurance, an Affidavit of No Workers' Compensation
is then required in its place.
Taxi or Transportation Service Providers
Taxi or transportation service providers must supply proof of supplemental auto insurance or else they must provide a bond. Article VIII of Chapter 6 of the City of Cameron Code details the specific requirements in their entirety.
Pawn Shops and Payday Loan Establishments
Pawn shops and payday loan establishments must submit to a background investigation, remit additional fees, and have additional requirements which are detailed in Article IX of Chapter 6 of the City of Cameron Code.
Security Alarm Companies
Security alarm companies must submit to background investigations of their business as well as their employees. Additional requirements are detailed in Article X of Chapter 6 of the City of Cameron Code.
Peddlers and Door-to-Door Vendors
A peddlers and door-to-door vendors occupation license is valid for one year. The individual peddler’s permits are valid for 120 days. Be aware that the issuance of a peddler’s permit may take three weeks to three months depending on the results of the background investigation. In addition to the business license for the organization, each door-to-door vendor must submit to a background investigation. The additional fees associated with each individual solicitor are as follows:
Circus and Carnival Vendors
- Fingerprinting - $20
- ID badge - $1
- FBI background check - $12.00
Circus and carnival vendors must register all animals with the City in conjunction with the animal / dangerous animal code and enter into agreements with the City regarding clean-up and any utility services. There is a $50-per-day fee for these events.
